The Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and less crowded routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, offering breathtaking views and a higher chance of successful summit attempts. This 8-day trek takes you through diverse landscapes, from lush rainforests to alpine deserts, before reaching the iconic Uhuru Peak.
 
The Lemosho Route is known for its gradual ascent profile, allowing climbers more time to acclimatize to the altitude. It starts on the western side of Mount Kilimanjaro at Londorossi Gate and merges with other routes as it progresses towards the summit. The route offers stunning panoramic views from various vantage points along the way.

Day 1

Arrival in Moshi

 Upon arriving in Moshi, Tanzania's vibrant gateway town at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, you'll be warmly welcomed by your guide. Spend some time relaxing and preparing for your adventure ahead. Attend a pre-trek briefing where your guide will provide essential information about safety measures, equipment needed, and an overview of each day's trekking activities. Rest well to prepare yourself for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2

Londorossi Gate (2,100m) to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m) 

Begin your journey at Londorossi Gate where you'll complete registration formalities before embarking on a scenic drive to reach the starting point. The first day's trek takes you through dense rainforests teeming with wildlife until you reach Mti Mkubwa Camp for overnight camping.

Day 3

Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,500m) 

Today's hike introduces more challenging terrain as you traverse rocky ridges,gaining altitude along the way.Enjoy magnificent views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding landscapes before reaching Moir Hut,where you'll camp for the night.

Day 4

Shira 1 Camp (3,500m) to Moir Hut (4,200m) 

Today's hike introduces more challenging terrain as you traverse rocky ridges,gaining altitude along the way.Enjoy magnificent views of Kibo Peak and the surrounding landscapes before reaching Moir Hut,where you'll camp for the night.

Day 5

Moir Hut (4,200m) to Barranco Camp (3,950m)

  Venture into alpine desert terrain as you ascend towards Lava Tower at an impressive altitude of 4,600 meters. Trekking through this high-altitude environment provides excellent acclimatization opportunities before descending to Barranco Camp in the Great Barranco Valley.

Day 6

Barranco Camp (3,950m) to Karanga Camp (3,995m) 

Embark on a challenging day that includes scaling the iconic Barranco Wall,enjoying breathtaking views from its summit.Continue through valleys and ridges until you reach Karanga Camp,nestled beneath Kilimanjaro's southern glaciers

Day 7

Karanga Camp (3,995m) to Barafu Camp (4,673m)

 As you approach the final ascent stage, the landscape transitions into a desolate alpine desert. The trek takes you across vast expanses with extraordinary views of Mawenzi  Peak. Eventually, you'll arrive at Barafu Base Camp where you'll rest and prepare for your summit attempt

Day 8

Barafu Camp (4,673m) - Uhuru Peak (5,895m)

 This is the most challenging but rewarding day. Begin your climb around midnight under starry skies, battling steep scree slopes. Arriving at Stella Point, the crater rim, you'll witness a magnificent sunrise. Continue along the rim towards Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, start descending down to Mweka High camp for overnight stay.

Day 9

Mweka High camp(3800)-Mweka gate(1700)

 
On the final day, descend through lush rainforests to Mweka Gate where you'll receive your well-deserved certificate of achievement.
The Lemosho Route is considered a challenging trek due to its longer duration and higher altitudes.
